Just thought I would let you all know the good news, if you have not already heard Billy Slater has signed with the storm until the end of 2012!!! yay, I’m so stoked he chose to stay with the storm and it just goes to show the culture the Storm provide for their players down in Melbourne because a number of their key players have chosen to stay there on less money cause they know a good thing when they have one. Best of luck to the storm, its going to be a great season.

What cricketer should have been included?

I can say that Andrew Symonds is a very talented batsman and cricketer as a whole but I would have rather seen someone like Michael Clarke or even Ricky Ponting representing the cricketing world.

If they do a season 2 they need to get Anthony Mundine. Or Kosta Tszyu or Danny Green. A boxer would have been great for this show.

After listening to them talk between events I have to say Steve Hooker is my fav so far. Not sure he’ll win it but I like his attitude.

Billy Slater seems pretty chilled and confident and Lote just always looks like he’s having fun.

Don’t discount the driver!

In the opening interviews, I was having a good old chuckle saying to myself, “Don’t discount the driver!”

V8 Supercar drivers are elite athletes. The endurance that they need is incredible, how many other of the athletes would lose a couple of kilos each time they competed? They have to cope with temperatures of over 55 degrees in the cars and the first race here in Adelaide is usually the worst. Just about every year drivers have had to stop due to heat exhaustion. Again, how many of the other sports does that regularly happen? This despite the fact that they wear cool-suits that circulate chilled fluid!

By the end of the first episode, quite a few of the others had to eat their words. I predict that will continue and Jamie will finish in the top three at the end of the series. He could struggle with some of the strength one-on-one’s, due to being the second lightest, but should do well in most of the upcoming challenges. As in V8’s you don’t need to win each round to win the series. Consistency is the key and I believe Jamie will do well.

What kind of sportsperson would you like to see have a go?

I only just saw this show today, and thought the premise was awesome! :D

I was thinking it could use a womens category.

I liked seeing the various sportspeople having a go, but was suprised that you had a rugby league and a rugby union player at the same time.
Otherwise I thought the variety was pretty good.

I’d like to see a mountain biker take part in the next one, because of the powerful legs and hand-eye coordination required.
Someone like Sam Hill, who is a world-champion downhill bike racer. He’s famous enough international people would probably even watch the show.
